The Gender@Workshops are financed by the Centre for Gender Studies (ZfG) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, and organized jointly with the staff development office. Budgeting for the workshops is specified in the target-setting and performance agreements between the Rector’s office and the Centre for Gender Studies.
Gender@Workshops provide information and training concerning issues and initiatives related to equality and non-discrimination, as well as measures the university is taking to strengthen the advancement of women.
Gender@Workshops are a regular part of the staff training program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, in keeping with the objectives of gender awareness and the expansion of gender knowledge and competence at all levels. Fulfillment of these objectives is mandated in the university’s statutes (see Sections 94-96). A detailed definition of the objectives is also included in the Development Plan for 2016-2021 (Chapter 5: Gender and diversity), and in the new Plan for Gender Equality and the Advancement of Women.
