Summary

The “Angewandte Mentoring-Programm” serves as an advancement strategy to promote equal opportunities at the university. It aims to address the decreasing proportion of women across career trajectories as their qualifications increase (from studying to becoming professors) and to support motivated early-career artist and researchers in the strategic planning of their career and their development by fostering exchange with experienced international artists and researchers.

The objective(s) of the tool

The “Angewandte Mentoring-Programm” is designed as an advancement strategy in relation to equal opportunities at the university. Its goal is to address the decrease in the proportion of women across career trajectories with increasing qualification (from studying to becoming a professor) and to support motivated early career artists and researchers by assisting them in strategic career planning and development through fostering exchange with experienced international artists and researchers.

Description of the tool

Contents of the program:

  • Assessment – reflecting on individual artistic and/or academic efforts and/or the individual subject of research
  • identifying career-relevant factors
  • developing a roadmap for one’s individual career path
  • gaining insights into the (informal) structures of, universities, for example, as well as learning about important venues and “locales” that improve professional visibility
  • analyzing, building and expanding artistic, academic and university networks
