Relation to gender equality targets

By stipulating measures for increasing the share of women in internal target- and performance agreements between Rectorate and faculties, the University of Graz complies with the objectives set in the performance agreement with the Ministry.

The objective(s) of the tool

The tool is aimed at ensuring the quality of measures related to raising the share of women as designed by the faculties. The catalog serves to aid in the planning of measures targeted to increase the proportion of women while simultaneously providing the Rectorate with assessment criteria for such actions.

Description of the tool

In order to accelerate increasing the proportion of women, faculties of Graz University are required to propose “qualified measures” in their target- and performance agreements with the Rectorate; an obligation stipulated in the performance agreements with the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (bmwfw).

(Through explanation and examples) The guideline provides support and educates on the minimum requirements a measure has to meet in order to be “qualified” and included in the faculty target- and performance agreements with the Rectorate.

It defines feasible approaches for these activities and criteria to be complied with at Graz University, while also containing examples intended to inspire the development of specifically tailored concepts. Additionally, the Coordination Centre is available for consultation as well.

How the tool works, practical experience

Functioning of the guideline depends on recommendations of use made (in relevant documents and personally) by the department responsible for monitoring the performance agreements.
